Larry Darnell Blair’s Life Journey

Larry Darnell Blair, affectionately known as “Darnell”, age 64, of Rockwall, Texas, went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2022, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with his wife and son by his side.

Darnell was born on March 11, 1958, to Helen Marie Wright in Dallas, Texas.  He grew up in Dallas where he graduated from Skyline High School.

Darnell received Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at an early age at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.  He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was consumed in learning more and more about the Word.  He shared the Word of God whether it be a Chapter, Scripture, or his famous daily word of the day. He did this with anyone who would listen and even those that would not.

He worked a few jobs until he landed at Dart where he would go on to work for 23 yrs. until he retired July 2021.  He enjoyed his life of retirement for the time he had, treasuring his life and his love.

Darnell loved all genres of music but had a special love for “smooth jazz” as he called it.  He was not only crazy about the DRUMS he was great at it.  He never knew a stranger and would always make you feel welcomed.  Anyone that truly knew him, knew he had such a big heart.

Darnell was kind, generous and compassionate.  Even when he spoke in anger it was out of love and he was often the first to apologize and try to heal what was broken.  He loved his entire family, despite quirks and disfunction.  He worried about them all, rooted for them, protected them, forgave them, and always kept on loving them.

Darnell married the love of his life, Renee Rink, on June 6, 1997, together they lived, loved, and built an amazing and wonderful life.

Darnell will be desperately missed by all those that he’s left behind.  Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss.  He was one of a kind and to be loved by him was to be truly blessed.

He left to join those gone before him, including his mother, Helen Marie Thomas; two brother, Willie Blair, Ray Robinson and sister Janette Blair.

He leaves to cherish the memories and celebrate his life, his loving and devoted wife, Renee; three sons, Lamonta (Kanika), Codarrel (Jennifer), and Antwain; one daughter Sheniqua (Brandon); Ten grandchildren, Shai’Twan, Lorrie, Bre’Anna, Taiwan, Kayla, Marquis, Chloe, Blessing, Elijah, Isaac; great grandchildren, Na’Layah, Kaine and Payton; four brothers, Jeffery (Shawanda), James, Robert (Debra) and Tony(Tina); one sister, Melodie; Father in law, James; mother in law, Beatrice; Brothers in law James Jr., Ronnie (Ana), Marcus (Kim) and sister in law, Tonya; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
